At the serene outskirts of the city Bharatpur, GEC Bharatpur is located in The Golden Triangle (Tourist circuit which connects the national capital New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) at National Highway No.-11. It was established in the year 2007. Since then it has constantly grown with very fast pace. It is the first government engineering college in the Bharatpur division. The campus is spread over an area of 40 acres. It offers students a peaceful atmosphere.

District Bharatpur is connected to Nunh district of Haryana on the north, Mathura and Agra districts of Uttar Pradesh on the east, Districts of Rajasthan; Dholpur on the south, Karauli on the southwest, and Dausa and Alwar on the west.
The College is affilated to the Rajasthan Technical University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The Principal of the college is Dr. Ravi Gupta, a brilliant administrator and widely read scholar.
The admission to B.Tech. courses are through the ranks acquired in the State wide common entrance examination i.e. RPET conducted by the Rajasthan State Council for Higher Education.
